PINK IS THE NEW...PINK!!Today was definitely, without a doubt, memorable! Once again, we celebrated "Pink Day", which has become an annual holiday at my middle school, Reminding us of those who has been affected by breast cancer, which basically includes everyone, because in some way, shape, or form, we all know someone who's life has been changed or lost due to this horrible disease. "Pink Day" represents strength, perseverance, & courage of human kind fighting against this terrible disease, while our hopeful search for the cure for cancer continues!! Everyone...and I mean EVERYONE - Students, Staff, Parents, News Broadcasters, list goes on and on, sports pink in ways never thought of before, on clothing, in hair (real, spray painted, or fake), in the classroom and lunchroom. There are sometimes even surprise visitations from characters such as The Pink Panther, Dr. Seuss's Cat in The Hat, and even Pink Elvis, with whom I was lucky enough to get my picture taken. Honestly, It wouldn't surprise me at all if next year, Santa Claus were to show up dressed entirely in Pink, along with a magenta sleigh and nine pink-nosed reindeer! And who could forget the multitudes of Christmas Gifts wrapped in various shades of, you guessed it - Pink!! All in all, this annual event raises a great deal of awareness and most importantly, our school is able to raise $ through merchandise and donations etc that all go towards finding a cure for cancer. Well, there you have it, Pink is the new...Pink!!
