Good Afternoon! Happy Monday! I just got in from work, and came home to an empty house for the 1st time in a long while. My parents and children will be in Ocean City for 3 days, and I'm scratching my head with a look of mixed emotion, partly "What do I DO without them?" (frown face), partly "What do I do WITHOUT them?" (yay! Woodwork! closet organization! dinner with hubby before he goes back to work! shower! sleep! blog! all of the above!)
As I sit here at my computer, peanut butter filled spoon in my mouth, cat to my left nudging me with mouse toy, I take a deep breath and begin to write, and it feels really good...Let's do a report on progress made in big girl room!
Starting out with the beautiful entryway into Clara's shabby french vintage girl cave - Because the room is small, we were able to create a sweet vignette in the hallway outside Clara's bedroom door using many of the items from Clara's old bedroom and playroom in our last home, and make the hallway feel warm, inviting, and whimsical. It's a lot of pink for a hallway gallery wall, but It's still in progress but I love the way it's turning out. Plus it was the perfect space for a cream farmhouse shelf, which I've had for 12 years, and bought from a store that was closing their doors, and everything had to go. Love it! Most frames and decor has been thrifted, repainted, found at yard sales etc, and very few items very new or recently purchased.
Now onto Clara's bedroom...
Gray, white, pink bedding and pink trellis hamper from Homegoods!
I planned to add a cute monogram or single "C" to the center of our ikea frame, which Clara and I antiqued with white paint. Just recently, however, I found the perfect centerpiece at target, which I'll share of photo of soon.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed Clara's bedroom tour, and random donut, and the newest member of our family, Waverly! God Bless and have a fabulous week!
